About Exam

AIIMS PG or All India Institutes of Medical Sciences Post Graduate is conducted biannually, once in January and once in the month of July. AIIMS PG Exam Pattern consists of two separate papers-one for the MDS Course and one for the MS/MD course. Both the examinations are conducted in online mode (Computer Based Test). The candidates appearing in AIIMS PG Entrance must be an MBBS holder or must have completed the mandatory one-year rotational internship. Those candidates who have successfully submitted the application can download their AIIMS PG Admit Card from the AIIMS Official Website.

Eligibility

Candidates have to fulfil all the following criteria: 

Candidates must have an MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS from a recognized institution recognized by Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India

Candidates must have completed 12 months of rotating internship on or before April 30, 2017

Candidate belonging to General category must have secured 55% aggregate in MBBS, while it is 50% for candidates belonging to SC/ST categories

Exam Process

The online registration for AIIMS PG 2017 July session willbegin, tentatively, in the month of March, 2017. The application forms will beavailable in online mode only and no other mode was accepted. The last date tofill the online application form will be in the month of April, 2017,tentatively.

The application fee amount of AIIMS PG 2017 is Rs.1000 forGeneral and OBC candidates and Rs.800 for SC/ST candidates. Along with theapplication fee amount candidates have to pay the transaction charges. The feehas to be remitted through net banking, debit card and credit card.

Pattern

AIIMS PG 2017 is a Computer Based Test (CBT). The question paper will be based on the syllabus prescribed by the exam conducting authority, AIIMS, New Delhi. The online question booklet will have questions Pre-Clinical, Clinical and Para-Clinical subjects. Candidates can check below for the highlights of AIIMS PG 2017 exam pattern:

 For MD/MS:

Duration: 3 Hours (180 minutes)

Number of Questions: 200 Objective based multiple choice questions

Marking Scheme: 1 marks for each correct response

Negative Marking: 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for each incorrect response

Syllabus: Exam will be based on the syllabus for MBBS programmes

For MDS:

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes (90 minutes)

No. of questions: 90 Objective based multiple choice questions

Marking Scheme: 1 marks for each correct response

Negative Marking: 1/3rd of the marks will be deducted for each incorrect response

Syllabus: Exam will be based on the syllabus taught during BDS.
