About Exam

BCECE (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination) is a State level test conducted annually in multiple stages. BCECE 2017 is scheduled on April 16, 2017 (Stage 1) and May 14, 2017 (Stage 2). The candidates can now avail the BCECE Application Form online on the official website of BCECE Board. The candidates have to register on the official website by entering the personal details, subject group, mobile number and e-mail ID. After registering, preserve the registration number and password and then pay the application fee as per the subject group applied. The application fee for PCM/PCB/CBA is INR 1000 for General/OBC category (INR 500 for reserved category) while for PCMB group, it is INR 1100 for General/OBC (INR 550 for reserved category). BCECE is conducted in two stages. In order to qualify for the BCECE counselling, the candidates have to first appear in BCECE stage 1 & qualify it to enter in BCECE stage 2. It is conducted for admissions in Engineering, Medical, Agricultural and Technology Courses offered by the participating Institutes in Bihar.

Eligibility

The BCECE 2017 Eligibility criteria differ according to the courses. However, there is a set of common BCECE Eligibility criteria that the participants of BCECE should fulfil irrespective of the course they are applying to. Additionally, there are age limit criteria that the aspirants of BCECE have to abide by. Below are some important eligibility criteria for the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination:

Candidate must be Indian.

There will be no age limit for admission in engineering and pharmacy courses

To be eligible for Medical admission the candidate must be atleast 17 years as on 31 December of the year of exam

For Agriculture courses: Minimum age limit is 17 as on 1 July

Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE), 2017 is a state level joint entrance exam for admissions to various UG level in Engineering/Technology, Agricultural and Medical streams in govt. and self-financed institutions in Bihar as well as other states.                                           

Education Qualification

Engineering/Technology (Four Years Program: Candidates should have completed their Higher Secondary or equivalent education with atleast 45% or above (40 % for SC/ST/OBC). He/she should have studied Mathematics and Physics as mandatory subject and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical vocational subject as one of the optional subjects.

Pharmacy (Four Years Program): Candidates must have passed Higher secondary education or equivalent securing 45% or above (40% for SC/ST/OBC) with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects and Mathematic/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject as one of the optional subjects.

Note: The candidates appearing for Higher Secondary or equivalent exam are also eligible to apply for BCECE 2017, provided they have attained the required qualification at the time of counselling.

Domicile

Candidates should be Indian to get admission through BCECE 2017. They should also fulfil one of the following domicile criteria.

Parents of Candidate are permanent resident of Bihar.

Or

Parents of Candidate are registered Refugees in Bihar.

Or

Parents of Candidate are resident of other state, but are employees of Govt. Of Bihar.

Or

Parents of Candidate were employees of Govt. of Bihar before reorganization and their employee cadre is yet transferable between Bihar and Jharkhand.

Or

Parents of Candidate are holding posts in Govt. of India and are posted in Bihar or employee of central organization operated by Public sector Undertaking of Govt. Of India.

Or

Parents of Candidate are employee of national union and are currently posted in Bihar

Or

Seats nominated by Govt. of Bihar for candidates from Abroad/Indian states and Union territories where the facility of pursuing technical education is not available. Registration of candidates as per the norms and regulations of Central Govt. applicable to institutions located in Bihar. The candidates will be nominated by the government of respective states. These candidates are not required to appear for BCECE 2017.

Physical Examination

The selected candidates are required to undergo medical examination conducted by the appointed doctors. Candidates will be admitted only if they clear the medical examination. There will be separate fees for this examination.

Age Limit

There is no minimum age limit prescribed for admission to Engineering/Pharmacy courses. In case, any applicant applies to institutions outside Bihar on the basis of Bihar quota, then the norms and rules for prescribed age limit of that particular institution would be applicable.

BCECE 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Medical Courses

Education Qualification

Medical (Five Years Program):

Candidates must have passed the qualifying exam Higher Secondary or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Botany/Zoology. He/she should have obtained a minimum of 50 % aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. In case of SC/ST/EBC, the minimum aggregate percentage is relaxed to 40 % and for candidates under lower limb locomotors disability; the minimum aggregate percentage is relaxed to 45 %.

For BUMS course from Tibbi College, Patna, candidates should have studied Urdu as a full time course at secondary standard along with all the other necessary qualifications.

Age Limit

Candidates should have attained the age of 17 or should do the same by the Dec 31, 2017. The candidate should not be born after Dec 31, 1999. In this regard, the rules for admission into MBBS course would be based on the regulations of Medical Council of India.

Physical Examination

The selected candidates are required to undergo medical examination conducted by the appointed doctors. Candidates will be admitted only if they clear the medical examination. There will be separate fees for this examination.

Domicile

The domicile criteria for MBBS/BDS would be same as indicated in the domicile criteria for Engineering and Pharmacy courses

BCECE 2017 Eligibility Criteria for Agriculture, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry

Education Qualification

The minimum eligibility for educational qualification for courses available in Rajendra Agriculture University, Pusa (Samastipur) and Bihar Agriculture University, Sabor (Bhagalpur) is based upon the following education qualification.

Age Limit

Candidates should have attained the age of 17 years by July 1 of the first year of the academic session for the courses mentioned above. The maximum age limit for these courses is not prescribed.

Physical Examination

The selected candidates are required to undergo medical examination conducted by the appointed doctors. Candidates will be admitted only if they clear the medical examination. Candidates are required to pay additional fee for this examination.

Domicile Criteria

The domicile criteria for courses under Agricultural Science, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry will remain same as applicable in the case of Engineering and Pharmacy courses.

Education Qualification

For Private Pilot License – PPL course, candidates should have passed ISC/10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 60% and studied Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

OR

Candidates should have passed B.Sc course with a minimum of 50% and the above mentioned subjects.

In case of candidates applying under SC/ST category, the minimum qualifying percentage in ISC/10+2 or equivalent examination is relaxed to 50% and studied Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The minimum qualifying percentage in B.Sc for SC/ST candidates is also relaxed to 45%.

Domicile Criteria

Candidates who are permanent resident or local resident of Bihar only will be considered eligible to apply for this course.

The selected candidates are required to undergo medical examination conducted by the appointed doctors. Candidates will be admitted only if they clear the medical examination. Candidates are required to pay additional fee for this examination.

Age Limit

The minimum age limit to apply for admission to Private Pilot License – PPL course is 17 years.

Exam Process

BCECE 2017 Application Form is now available on the official website of BCECE i.e. www.bceceboard.com. The candidates have to initially register online by mentioning a valid e-mail ID and mobile number. The candidates have to set a password and select a security question after which they are provided with a registration number. 

Enter the personal details in the first tab that opens after logging in using the credentials. Also, mention your choice of two test centers in the descending order of your priority. The candidates have to enter the details of their educational qualification in the next step.     The candidates have to then remit the BCECE Application Fee either through e-challan or online through Debit card/credit card/net banking. The fee varies with the subject groups- PCB/PCM or PCMB and with the candidates’ category.

For PCM/PCB/CBA subject group, the application is INR 1000 for general/OBC category candidates while it is INR 500 for reserved categories.

For PCMB subject group, the application fee is INR 1100 for general/OBC categories. It is INR 550 for reserved categories.

After that submit the form and print the BCECE Application form to post it to the conducting authority. Enclose the required documents and affix a passport sized photograph in the space provided. Post the BCECE Application form latest by March 20, 2017.

Guidelines for BCECE Application Form

Candidates are required to follow the important guidelines for filling the application form of BCECE 2017-

BCECE 2017 Application Form should be filled in English language only. Capital letters must be used in filling the form except in declaration and in signature.

Photograph pasted on both the Forms- A & B of the application form of BCECE must be same. Photographs can be either black-white or coloured but it must be of high contrast. Size of the photograph should be 3.5cm x 4.5cm. Applicant should click his photograph from the photo-studio, so that he can receive receipt of the photograph which can be attached along with the application form. Candidate must hold a placard while clicking the photograph which should mention Candidate’s Name and Date of the photograph taken. Using any digital photograph or the photo clicked by any other media is prohibited. Photograph should not be clicked before January 01, 2017. Ears of the candidates must be clearly visible.

Candidate’s name should be correctly written as per the name indicted in the school record.

Candidate should mention permanent address along with the PIN Code.

For reservation, Bihar CET 2017 candidates must mention correctly their reserved category. If they fail to do so, then they will be treated from general category.

If any discrepancy found in both the forms then details on Form A will be treated as final.

Kindly mention your father’s designation.

Date of Birth of the candidate should be same as mentioned in class 10th mark sheet.

Candidate should mention the exam center code according to their convenience.

Applicants should self-attest and attach the Xerox copies of required documents such as caste certificate.

Pattern

BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern-Stage 1 & Stage 2

The BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern differs for both the stages of the examination. It is a pen and paper based examination with objective type questions. BCECE 2017 will be conducted in two stages namely: Stage 1 (2 hours 15 minutes) and Stage 2 (1 hour 30 minutes for each section)

The questions in the examination will be in English with its Hindi translation mentioned below. The BCECE Exam Pattern is similar for both Engineering and Medical courses. The BCECE 2017 Stage 1 and Stage 2 examination have 4 sections which are as follows: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology

BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern Stage 1

The BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern differs for both BCECE 2017 Stage 1 and BCECE 2017 Stage 2 examination. The highlights of BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern Stage 1 are:

The BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern Stage 1 has four sections namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

The duration of the entire examination is 2 hours 15 minutes.

It is mandatory to attempt the Physics and Chemistry section.

The candidates applying for Engineering must attempt the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics section

The candidates who desire admissions in medical courses must attempt Physics, Chemistry and Biology section or all the four sections.

Each section has 50 questions which makes the total number of questions for engineering course (PCM) 150.

Each section for the Medical Course (PCB) contains 50 MCQ questions which makes total number of questions for the course 150.

The total marks for the BCECE 2017 Stage 1 are 600.

The candidate will be awarded 4 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern Stage 2

The candidates who qualify the BCECE 2017 Stage 1 examination can appear for the BCECE 2017 Stage 2 examination. The important points about the BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern Stage 2 are:

The examination consists of different papers for each section attempted in BCECE 2017 Stage 1 examination.

There shall be a gap of 30 minutes between two consecutive papers.

The question booklet will be in English with Hindi translations under every English translation of the questions.

The BCECE 2017 Exam Pattern Stage 2 consists of four separate papers namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.

The duration for each section is 90 minutes.

Each paper comprises of 100 multiple choice questions.

The total marks for each paper is 400. Thus, total score of the BCECE 2017 Stage 2 is 1200.

Every correct answer carries 4 marks. 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

The candidates have to attempt only those papers which they have attempted in BCECE 2017Stage 1 examination.

Thus candidates who desire admissions in Engineering have to give the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics papers in the BCECE 2017 Stage 2 examination.

The candidates who wish to take admissions in Medical courses have to give Physics, Chemistry and Biology papers or all the four sections in BCECE 2017 Stage 2 examination.
