About Exam

CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted by CBSE for selection of teachers in Central Government Schools. The CTET exam is conducted twice a year. It is conducted for both Primary and Elementary stage. There will be 2 papers– CTET Paper 1 and CTET Paper 2. Each paper will have 150 questions and will carry 150 marks. Time allotted to complete each CTET Paper is 2 Hours 30 Minutes. The result for CTET 2017 February session will be announced in April – 2017. CTET Marks statement will be sent later. The qualification certificate is valid for seven years from the date of CTET Result declaration.

Eligibility

CTET Eligibility for a Primary Teacher (Paper I)

The candidates must satisfy any one of the following criteria to be a teacher for class I-V:

• Candidate should have passed senior secondary with at least 50% marks or appearing final year of a 2 year diploma in elementary education.

• Candidate should have obtained at least 45% marks in senior secondary and or appearing in final year of a 2 year diploma in Elementary education following the norms of NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education)

• Candidate should have passed senior secondary with at least 50% marks or appearing in final year of a 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

• Candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks in senior secondary or appearing in final year of 2 year diploma in Education (Special Education)

CTET Eligibility for an Elementary Teacher (Paper II)

The candidates must satisfy any one of the following criteria to be a teacher for class VI-VIII:

• The candidate must be a graduate and must have cleared or appearing in the final year of a 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education

• He/she must have completed graduation with at least 50% marks and have cleared or appearing in 1st year Bachelor of Education programme (B.Ed)

• He/she must have graduated with at least 45% marks and must have cleared or appearing in 1st year B.Ed programme following the NCTE Regulations issued time to time.

• The candidate must have passed senior secondary with at least 50% marks and must have cleared or appearing in the 4th year degree programme in Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

• Candidate must have obtained atleast 50% marks in senior secondary and must have passed or appearing in the 4th year of B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed

• He/she must be a graduate with atleast 50% marks and must have passed/appearing in B.Ed (Special Education)

Note: The candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) will get a relaxation of 5% in the qualifying marks in the academic eligibility for CTET.

Exam Process

Online Mode

Step 1: Filling the CTET Online Form

Click on “Apply Online” and go through the instructions carefully

Enter the initial details as per the information mentioned on the class X certificate

Mention the language preferred and medium for the CTE exam in the next column

Fill academic, other personal and communication details in the CTET Online Form

Enter security code and click on Next


Step 2: Uploading Documents

Review the details entered and make corrections, if any

If the information is correct then click on final submit

Note down the registration number generated

Upload the photograph 

Upload the signature


Step 3: Fee Payment

You are automatically redirected to the fee payment page

Choose the payment option between online and offline

If you choose online payment, select payment gateway (debit card/credit card)

In case of debit card, enter card number, validity and CVV number

For payment through credit card, enter card number and pin

If you choose offline payment, download the e-challan and deposit the same in Canara Bank and Syndicate Bank


Step 4 Confirmation Page

The filled CTET Online Form is previewed on the screen

Print the filled CTET Online Form for future reference

Do not send the printed copy of the CTET Online Form to the Board
