About Exam

JIPMER 2017 is scheduled for the candidates seeking admission in medical courses of JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research). The Entrance exam will be conducted on June 4, 2017. It is a computer based test and will be conducted in 2 shifts on the same day. The JIPMER 2017 registration process will start from May 3, 2017. The candidates applying for the exam must have completed the age of 17 years on or before December 31, 2017.


Candidates have to fulfil all the following criteria:

Nationality: The candidate should be an Indian or Overseas Citizen of India.

Age Limit: The candidate must have completed the age of 17 years before or on December 31, 2017.

Educational Qualification: A candidate who has either passed or is appearing in 10+2 or any equivalent examination from a recognized board of education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as the main subjects is eligible. General category candidates have to score 50% (OPH 45%) to apply for JIPMER.  For reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) candidates need to have minimum 40%.

Exam Process

Candidates have to register themselves by filling the credentials in the form. Before filling the application form candidates must keep a scanned photograph and signature ready in required format.

Candidates have to pay online fee after registration process and filling of application form and uploading photograph and signature.

Candidate can make the online payment via. Net Banking, Credit card and Debit Card. No other mode of payment would be accepted. 

The application fee for different categories is different.

General: INR 1,200

OBC: INR 1,200

SC/ST: INR 1000

NRI/OCI:  INR 2,500

Photograph must be taken on or after January 31, 2017

The photograph must be taken with placard (indicating candidates name and date)

The photograph size must be between 20 kb to 200 kb and dimension should be 30mm in width and 45 mm in height. Scanned image must be in jpg format.

The size of signature must be between 20 kb to 200 kb and dimension should be 80 mm in width and 35mm in height. Scanned image must be in jpg format.
