About Exam

JKCET is conducted for Engineering, Medical & Health Science Courses. The qualified candidates are provided admissions in the various programmes offered by institutes across Jammu & Kashmir. This exam is conducted yearly in the month of May to test candidates’ ability to apply their theoretical knowledge in solving practical and numerical problems. This exam is the single gateway for admission to professional courses including BE, BUMS, BAMS and BPT.


Candidates have to follow all the following criteria:

Nationality: Only candidates who are permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir State are eligible to apply for the JKCET 2017.

Academic Qualifications: Higher Secondary or 10+2 or an equivalent examination with atleast 50% marks (40% marks in case of reserved category). Students appearing or appeared in HSC are also eligible for JKCET 2017.

Age Limit: Candidate must be 17 years on or before December 31, 2017.

Exam Process

Candidates can visit the JKCET 2017 official website and fill the application form after registering their email Id and contact number. The Application Fee should be paid through Debit card, Credit card and E-challan. The candidate is required to upload his/her scanned photograph and signature/thumb impression. The application forms will be available online from June, 2017.

Before filling the JKCET 2017 application form, an applicant has to register online on the official website. After the process of registration is complete, the candidates receive a unique application number. This unique application number along with Date of Birth of the candidate is required to Login for future processes.

Given below are the steps to register for JKCET 2017:-

STEP 1: Filling Application Form

The first step is to visit the official website, click on “Common Entrance Test 2017” link and fill all the required details. On successful completion of the registration process, a unique Application Number is generated.

STEP 2: Payment of Application Fee

After registration, application fee of INR 800 should be paid. The fee can be paid either online or offline. Online Payment can be done through HDFC Integrated Payment Gateway. Offline Payment can be done through e-challan of J&K Bank or HDFC Bank. 

STEP 3: Uploading Images

Scanned images of photo, signature and left thumb impression should be uploaded. Scanned copies of certificates and scanned image of e-challan copy (Required only if you have submitted application fee via offline mode) is also required. The applicants need to follow the below instructions regarding uploading of documents.

The background of the photograph must be light in colour and in JPG/JPEG format.

The size of the photograph must be less than 500 KB.

The size of Signature/Thumb impression must be less than 200 KB.

The photograph of the candidate must be clicked on or after January 01, 2017.

STEP 4: Final Submission of the JKCET 2017 Application Form

After successful completion of this process, complete details of the candidate are displayed. Candidates should check all the details carefully to edit or modify any details, click on Modify Button. Following Application Form Filling, the JKCET 2017 Application form is generated. You have to click on Submit Button. Then, click Logout Button to successfully complete the application process.

5. Scanned Copy of Permanent Resident Certificate

6. Scanned Copy of Reserved Category Certificate
