About Exam

"State Bank of India conducts SBI SO Recruitment exam every year for selection of Specialist Officers. Specialist Officers are appointed in various specialized roles within the aegis of the bank. The specialized roles may vary from IT to legal and Human Resources. The Application form for SBI SO can be accessed from the official website of State Bank of India. The closing dates for SBI SO Application Form would vary depending on the posts for which the candidates are applying. All the applications would be screened on the basis of their work experience and educational qualification. The shortlisted candidates would then be called for the SBI SO Selection Process. The selection process consists of only personal interview. The interviews for various posts are expected to take place in the month of August-September. The final merit list would be released for all the successful candidates on the basis of SBI SO cut-off as stipulated by the State Bank of India. "

Eligibility

SBI PO 2016 - Eligibility Criteria
(A) Essential Academic Qualifications: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/Semester of their graduation can also apply. Candidates possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant can also apply.
 (B) Age Limit: Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2016.
Relaxation of Upper Age Limit:
1. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe -5 Years
2. Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) - 3 Years
3. Persons with Disabilities (PWD) PWD (SC/ST)-15 Years
4. PWD (OBC) - 13 Years
5. PWD (Gen) - 10 Years                                                     
6.  Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have rendered 5 years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from the last date of receipt of application) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or physical disability attributable to military service- 5 Years
7. Persons ordinarily domiciled of the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989- 5 Years 
(C) Other
(i) Candidates with record of default in repayment of loans/credit card dues and/or against whose name adverse report of CIBIL or other external agencies are available are not eligible to apply for the post.
(ii) Candidates against whom there is adverse report regarding character and antecedents, moral turpitude are not eligible to apply for the post.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            

Exam Process

Candidates should fill the online application on www.sbi.co.in or www.statebankofindia.com        Rs. 600/- for General and Other Candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD Category is the application fee.

1. For Systems, CA & Engineering Officers
Paper - I
English Language - 35 questions - 35 marks
Reasoning Ability - 50 questions - 50 marks
Quantitative Aptitude - 35 questions - 35 marks
Total Duration 90 Minutes

Paper – II

Professional Knowledge - 50 questions - 100 marks
Time Duration 45 Minutes

2. For Law Officers

Paper - I
English Language - 50 questions - 50 marks
Reasoning Ability - 70 questions - 70 marks
Total Duration - 90 Minutes

Paper - II
Professional Knowledge - 50 questions 100 marks
3. For Official Language Officers
Paper - I
Language (Hindi & English) - 70 questions - 70 marks
Reasoning Ability - 50 questions - 50 marks
Total Duration - 90 Minutes

Paper - II
Professional Knowledge - 50 questions - 100 marks
Total Duration 45 Minutes

4. For Economist
Paper - I
English Language - 35 questions - 35 marks
Reasoning Ability - 50 questions - 50 marks
Quantitative Aptitude - 35 questions - 35 marks
Total Duration - 90 Minutes

Paper - II
Professional Knowledge - 50 questions - 100 marks
Total Duration - 45 Minutes

Paper - III
Essay on a topic related to Economics
50 marks
Total Duration - 45 Minutes

Candidates who qualify in the written examination are called for personality test/interview.
