About Exam

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board was formed in the year 1962 for the purpose of holding Common Entrance Examinations for admissions to the undergraduate level engineering courses in the State of West Bengal. The endeavour of the board has always been directed towards enhancement of transparency in conducting Common Entrance Examinations for various professional undergraduate and postgraduate level courses in the State through effective state-of-the-art technology. For the 2017–2018 academic sessions, the board will conduct the Common Entrance Examination for admission to Undergraduate Courses in Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy and Architecture in Universities, Govt. Colleges and Self Financed Institutes in the State.


Candidate should have passed ‘10+2’ or equivalent examinationwith Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with atleast 60%(55% for Reserve Category Students) marks in all the above three subjects takentogether, individual pass marks (both in theory & practical where everapplicable) in each of the subjects with at least 30% marks in English.

Exam Process

Fill in the application form and submit the form fee via ONLINE or OFFLINE modes as follows:

Online Fee: Credit or Debit Cards and Net Banking

Offline Fee: Allahabad Bank Challan

After that, the generation and printing of confirmation page for WBJEE 2017 will be enabled and your form submission shall be over.

The status of applications can be viewed on the official website after some days.

The authority can drop any examination zone if they do not find sufficient number of students over there.
